BOOKING

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

Appointments for eyebrows can only be made via our online booking system. We do not book in person, over the phone, or via email. Appointments with Honey open once every 1st of the month at 8pm and close when books are full. Appointments with the other artists are available online, 24/7. We require a deposit, well-lit photo of your brows, and a good email and phone number to book.

PRECARE

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

We require our clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen. Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume. If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure. It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 2 weeks BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it. If you have an ideal shape in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment. You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire. Do not remove any hairs at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment. The more hair, the better. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, we will remove them. If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 14 days after the procedure. Last but not least, drink plenty of water the weeks leading up to your appointment as healthy skin is how we can achieve optimal healed results.

AM I THE RIGHT CANDIDATE FOR MICROBLADING?

There are only a few instances where microblading wouldn't be right for you. If you are pregnant, as a precaution we will not perform the service as their is a risk of infection.

If you have extremely oily skin, the hair stroke eyebrow technique may not work very well for you. The constant production of oil will cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will look more powdered than you would expect. We recommend powder brows for extremely oily skin. We do not provide that service at HoneyBrow.

If you have little to no existing hair or coarse hair, your tattoo will appear more 2-dimensional than those clients who have more hair, or naturally finer hair.

If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment may fade sooner.

If you are iron deficient or Anemic, your pigment may fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.

If you are currently going through chemotherapy, please wait at least 3 months post to get microblading done because like with any tattoo, there is a risk of infection

If you have any eczema or contact dermatitis flare-ups on your face leading up to your appointment, you may need to reschedule as we do not want to add to the flare up by working on the skin.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed, we will need to do a consultation before booking. We cannot guarantee results for cases such as these. In some instances where the previous work is too dark, dense, discolored, or large, tattoo removal will be highly recommended before our services will be considered. Previously tattooed areas will almost always require additional sessions and will be charged accordingly. Some special cases may be considered. Please contact us with any further questions.

WHAT ABOUT BOTOX?

Botox will interfere with the shaping of your brows so it is recommended to get Botox atleast 30 days before your appointment or 2 weeks after

SESSION

DO I GET TO SEE THE SHAPE BEFORE?

Of course! Your artist will take their time to map out a beautiful shape for you and will let you “ok” the shape before they start. This moment is very important to go over anything that makes you uncomfortable as these are the moments right before the tattoo. It’s also very important for you to trust your artist and not go overboard on micro changes. Only book when you are confident enough in your artist, please.

DOES IT HURT?

A highly-effective, topical anesthetic cream is used for numbing before your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable during the procedure. on average, clients claim it is a 2-5 on the pain scale out of 10. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure. If you are a frequent smoker, the topical anesthetics used during the procedure will not last as long. If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Sure you can. We have plenty of seating in our main waiting area where your friend can relax. Company is not allowed in room where service is being provided. We also recommend planning for childcare, as we want our clients to be able to relax and enjoy their beauty service without having to be on mom mode, we know first hand how it is.

POST-SESSION

WHATS THE HEALING PROCESS?

Your semi-permanent makeup will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. They will become dry and peel, before gradually lightening during the complete healing process. Redness and swelling is minimal.

WHATS THE AFTER CARE?

The HoneyBrow technique is a very fragile procedure, so you must take the after care very seriously. Things to prepare for: no direct sunlight exposure to the brows, no sweating or working out, no water, no makeup near the brows and no brow movement for up to 2 weeks after your appointment. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it! You will be given detailed instructions on the day of your appointment.
